We were so happy to have this little preterm baby brought to our neonatal unit like this! He had travelled safe and toasty warm in Kangaroo Mother Care on the back of a motorbike from the health centre where he was born.
Often preterms are referred to us in the blankets they were born in and arrive dangerously cold and in a poor condition. This little baby was pink, warm and doing really well.
The midwive who had delivered this baby in a health centre, had not been on one of our newborn training courses, but her colleague had been. We are so grateful that Sister Julian took her knowledge and shared it with her colleagues in her new posting.
Well done Sister Julian! Let’s hope the knowledge continues to spread and more and more babies benefit.
