Many of our newborn babies come to the neonatal unit with only the sheets that they were born into to. This means that many of our babies arrive with us cold and wet, which is not a great way to start off. For those who are preterm, the risk of hypothermia continues and even though we live on the equator, our preterm babies can quickly become severely cold without enough warm clothes.
The staff and mamas are therefore always very grateful to receive your kind donations of hats, cardigans and blankets to help keep the babies toasty warm and help save their lives.
A huge thank you to everyone who has sent us donations so far and a special thank you to all of our regular donors, especially to the ladies from Sandy, Jane, Hannah, Leann, Ashley and all their friends and families. We regularly receive parcels from England, South Africa and New Zealand.
